BOTH GOOGLE and Microsoft declared revenues and while the results are rosy for the latter, the former quadrupled its earnings.

Microsoft's net profits rose by 38 per cent in its fourth quarter. It made $3.7 billion on revnues of $10.16 billion>

Google continued its run, by making $342.8 million net profit on revenues of $890 million. That's a fourfold increase in its profits compared to the same period last year.

Google's profits were nearly all from its advertising scheme. Microsoft's profits were helped by good sales of server software and increased sales of notebooks. Sales of Office, however, only rose by 2.5 per cent, while Windows sales rose by just over 10 per cent, with revenues from the OS amounting to $3.3 billion. ยต
