مَّثَلُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ۖ فِيهَآ أَنْهَٰرٌ مِّن مَّآءٍ غَيْرِ ءَاسِنٍ وَأَنْهَٰرٌ مِّن لَّبَنٍ لَّمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهُۥ وَأَنْهَٰرٌ مِّنْ خَمْرٍ لَّذَّةٍ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ وَأَنْهَٰرٌ مِّنْ عَسَلٍ مُّصَفًّى ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ كَمَنْ هُوَ خَٰلِدٌ فِى ٱلنَّارِ وَسُقُوا۟ مَآءً حَمِيمًا فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَآءَهُمْ
Sifat Syurga yang telah dijanjikan kepada orang-orang yang bertaqwa (ialah seperti berikut): ada padanya beberapa sungai dari air yang tidak berubah (rasa dan baunya), dan beberapa sungai dari susu yang tidak berubah rasanya, serta beberapa sungai dari arak yang lazat bagi orang-orang yang meminumnya, dan juga beberapa sungai dari madu yang suci bersih. Dan ada pula untuk mereka di sana segala jenis buah-buahan, serta keredaan dari Tuhan mereka. (Adakah orang-orang yang tinggal kekal di dalam Syurga yang sedemikian itu keadaannya) sama seperti orang-orang yang tinggal kekal di dalam neraka dan diberi minum dari air yang menggelegak sehingga menjadikan isi perut mereka hancur? (Sudah tentu tidak sama)!

فَلَمَّا فَصَلَ طَالُوتُ بِٱلْجُنُودِ قَالَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُبْتَلِيكُم بِنَهَرٍ فَمَن شَرِبَ مِنْهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّى وَمَن لَّمْ يَطْعَمْهُ فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنِّىٓ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةًۢ بِيَدِهِۦ ۚ فَشَرِبُوا۟ مِنْهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّنْهُمْ ۚ فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَهُۥ هُوَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ قَالُوا۟ لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا ٱلْيَوْمَ بِجَالُوتَ وَجُنُودِهِۦ ۚ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُوا۟ ٱللَّهِ كَم مِّن فِئَةٍ قَلِيلَةٍ غَلَبَتْ فِئَةً كَثِيرَةًۢ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
Kemudian apabila Talut keluar bersama-sama tenteranya, berkatalah ia: "Sesungguhnya Allah akan menguji kamu dengan sebatang sungai, oleh itu sesiapa di antara kamu yang meminum airnya maka bukanlah ia dari pengikutku, dan sesiapa yang tidak merasai airnya maka sesungguhnya ia dari pengikutku, kecuali orang yang menceduk satu cedukan dengan tangannya". (Sesudah diingatkan demikian) mereka meminum juga dari sungai itu (dengan sepuas-puasnya), kecuali sebahagian kecil dari mereka. Setelah Talut bersama-sama orang-orang yang beriman menyeberangi sungai itu, berkatalah orang-orang yang meminum (sepuas-puasnya): "Kami pada hari ini tidak terdaya menentang Jalut dan tenteranya". Berkata pula orang-orang yang yakin bahawa mereka akan menemui Allah: "Berapa banyak (yang pernah terjadi), golongan yang sedikit berjaya menewaskan golongan yang banyak dengan izin Allah; dan Allah (sentiasa) bersama-sama orang-orang yang sabar".
