Rapidshare hacks, downloaders for rapidshare, no timelimit, unlimited downloads, free premium accounts. Those are some of the keywords that users are looking for. I thought it would be nice to write a definite guide about rapidshare. Which rapidshare hacks, tools and tricks are working, which are not. Rapidshare imposes a download and timelimit on non premium users of their service. Downloading from Rapidshare is only possible with one connection at a time and rapidshare limits the size of the files that you download to 30 megabytes every hour.Related post: rapidshare, hack, guide, tips, internet
Rapidshare Hacks:
There is one little rapidshare hack available which sets the timelimit you have to wait to 0. Clear your address bar and add the following line to it “javascript:alert(c=0)”. This sets the rapidshare timelimit to 0 but does not change the download limit. The only way to reset the rapidshare download limit is to make rapidshare.de believe you are a new user. This can be done by either reconnecting to your ISP or by using proxies.
Reconnecting to your ISP is only working if they give out dynamic (changing) IPs to their users, if you have a static IP you will have to use proxies. You can check your ip here. Rapidshare sets a cookie which you will have to delete as well. (In Firefox go to Tools, Options. Select Privacy, Cookies, View Cookies and delete all rapidshare cookies.)
You can try the following commands instead of reconnecting. Open the windows command line (Start, Run, enter cmd, hit enter). Type the following commands, hit enter after each line:

If your IP remains the same you probably have a static IP that does not change at all. Your only option to avoid the rapidshare download limit is to use proxies and still clear the cookies in the browser that you are using. Do a search on google for “proxy lists” and you will find heaps of websites that offer proxies. Not all of them are working and you will have to verify that the proxy is a) fast enough and b) does not spill your real IP.
To do that you can simply add the proxy to your connections menu and try it out. Lookup your ip and see if the page loads fast. If you recieve errors or you see your real IP you have to find another proxy.
Rapidshare Tools:
Tools provide some additional features like managing the downloads, changing proxies, simultanious downloads by using more than one proxy and much more. Let us take a look at some of the rapidshare tools:
Rapidshare Link Grab Helper, the password for the rar file is “webxposed.de”. A pretty basic rapidshare tool. Add a rapidshare link, add a proxy, click grab, enter the image verification code, sent the rapidhare direct link to flashget.
Rapget, supports not only rapidshare.de but many other file hosting services like megaupload.com for example. The program has more options, it allows you to select a proxy list that it uses automatically while downloading from rapidshare or the other services. It offers simultanious rapidshare downloads, you can set timeouts, schedule downloads and paste links from files or the clipboard.
Grabber, looks similar to the rapidshare link grab helper with some additional options such as proxy and link checking.
Rapidleecher, offers basic functionality. Copy links, use proxies, enter image verification, get real download link and download the file.
Rapidshare Searches:
You need links to download files from rapidshare. One common method is to use google to search rapidshare.de by using googles site search command.
site:rapidshare.de RAR
This would search rapidshare.de for every link / page that includes the word rar.
You can also search google for sites that index rapidshare downloads, I won�t get into detail about those sites because they mostly link to illegal downloads. Try the search string “rapidshare links” for example.
Rapidshare Free Premium Accounts:
Rapidshare sometimes promotes free premium accounts. Head over to this rapidshare link to check if they currently offer free premium accounts.

T.V. Raman, a senior research scientist here at Google, is blind, and he has just led an exciting project for us called Google Accessible Search. This new service (currently on Google Labs) adds a small twist to Google web search: in addition to finding the most relevant results from Google as usual, Accessible Search further prioritizes results based on the simplicity of their page layouts. When you search from the Accessible site, you'll get results that are prioritized based on their usability. This tends to favor pages with few visual distractions, and pages that are likely to render well with images turned off. Google Accessible Search is built on Google Co-op's technology, which emphasizes search results based on specialized interests.

The rise of real-world mapping and geographical information online is truly exciting to many people because it offers a "you are there" feeling that words, photos and even video can't provide. Visual imagery of the world that can be followed over distances helps to deepen our understanding of the physical world. For this reason we really enjoyed working on the special Google Earth overlays of a recent real-time, real world event, the 103rd Tour de France. (It ended in Paris on July 23rd; the yellow jersey went to American Floyd Landis, riding for the Swiss team.) Now you can make sense of it all by flying around the route yourself. A KML file available on the official Tour de France website lets you see the entire course overlaid on satellite imagery for Google Earth. The tour is available in French, German, and Spanish as well as English. Pick your language on the Le Tour site, and once you've done that, look for the "Tour on Google Earth" link in the lefthand navigation under Route. Then you can watch the starts, the finishes, even information on each of the cities along the way. Just move the KML file into your "My Places" folder on Google Earth and revisit all 20 grueling stages.

The 80-year-old politician is chairman and controlling shareholder of a firm operating a business called "The Loaf" serving bread and pastries. It opens its doors in the resort island of Langkawi on Saturday.
"I have always urged people to go into business through joint ventures with foreigners," Mahathir was quoted as saying by the Star newspaper on Thursday.
"Now I want to try my hand at both -- making bread and joint venture with the Japanese," he said, adding that he had a favourite baker's shop in Tokyo called "Johan".
Mahathir owns a 51 percent stake in a company called M&M Consolidated Resources Sdn Bhd, which is investing three million ringgit (440,000 pounds) in the venture. A Japanese partner owns the remaining 49 percent stake.
The company plans to expand by setting up shops in Kuala Lunmpur, Phuket and Singapore, the newspaper said.
Mahathir had some business experience before turning to full-time politics, running a medical clinic and petrol kiosk. He retired in 2003 after 22 years in office as prime minister.

Four children and the cost of war

Today, I found out.
Standing in front of this 8-year-old boy lying in a hospital bed, the "conflict in the Middle East" and the "cost of war" seem endless and suffocating. His pain cannot possibly be imagined as he shakes uncontrollably in and out of shock. He has blood coming from his eyes.
His name is Mahmood Monsoor and he is horribly burned. In the hospital bed next to him is his 8-month-old sister, Maria -- also burned. Screaming at the top of her lungs is the children's mother, Nuhader Monsoor. She is standing over her baby, looking at her son -- and probably thinking of her dead husband. The smell of burned flesh is overwhelming.
This story, for the Monsoor family, started out as a typical one, probably one that most of us have experienced. They had simply gone on a family vacation to some lovely sunny beaches, but these beaches were in southern Lebanon.
The six of them, like thousands of others, were fleeing the fighting -- trying to get north, waving white flags, when an Israeli bomb or missile slammed into their car. (Watch how the littlest victims are suffering -- 2:54. Viewer discretion is advised.)
The father, Mohammed Monsoor, was killed instantly. His children all were wounded. His wife, who is now crying over two of the wounded children, was in the best physical condition. But as would be the case for any mother and wife, her life, in many ways, ended the minute the car exploded into flames.
The other two Monsoor children, Ahmed, 15, and Ali, 13, are in surgery. Doctors can't tell me if they will make it. They walk away, their heads shaking. Optimism is not a word that breathes truth in this place. [full article]

Albino squirrel

Earlier last week, the Traveler newsroom received word that an unidentified caller had reported seeing an albino squirrel in Arkansas City.
This was definitely news since only 10 in every one million squirrels are born with albinism, a condition caused by a melanin deficiency.
You wouldn't think it would be that difficult to find a white squirrel, not to mention a white squirrel with pink eyes, once you know it's there, but you would be wrong.
Daily trips to the area yielded nothing. The weekend came and still no squirrel. Apparently, it's a matter of timing.
Louise Coldwell's yard has been a regular hangout for the squirrel since it was born. Louise isn't sure how old the squirrel is, just that it was a baby in the springtime and she believes it was born in one of her trees.
"It had a favorite tree it liked to be around for a long time," she said. The Coldwells and their neighbors have all shown an interest in the squirrel.
"We just enjoy watching it," Louise said. "I think most people do. We've had cars stop and (people) look at it."
Esther Hatcher lives across the street from the Coldwells. The squirrel has been as close as her front porch.
"It's a cute little squirrel," Esther said yesterday. "It's been hanging around for several months. It was over here this morning," (Monday).
Esther said the squirrel has grown quite a bit since she first saw it.
The truth is, the squirrel is lucky to still be alive. Albino squirrels have a very short life expectancy because they are easily seen by both predators and prey due to their obvious lack of camouflage.
Louise thinks it's more likely that the squirrel will be run over by a car. "It crosses Poplar Avenue and that scares me," she said.
She said sometimes the squirrel will be gone for a week and she'll worry that something happened to it.
"When we don't see it for a week or so, I'll think, 'Oh, no, it's gone,' but then it'll show up," she said.
Yesterday morning, Traveler photographer Donita Clausen was in the right place at the right time. The white squirrel and a fox squirrel were both playing in the Coldwell's yard.
Louise said the squirrels play so much in the area that she can't keep a bulb or a plant, but she doesn't really mind. "I think I prefer the squirrels," she said.

The State Patrol said three young people were in a Chrysler Town and Country minivan on U.S. Highway 59 on Monday when they tried to switch drivers while the cruise control was set.
During the exchange, the van went out of control and overturned, sliding into a ditch. The van was totaled.
The driver, 19, was airlifted to a hospital with possible internal injuries. Two passengers were sent to another hospital with head injuries.

The kitten was born Wednesday morning. It has two mouths that meow in unison, two noses and four eyes that have not opened yet, NBC 4's Mike Bowersock reported.
"I was playing outside in the rain. Once I came in, I saw a two-faced cat my mom was picking up. That's how I knew there was a two-faced cat," said Charles Roberts, the cat's owner.Roberts said he hasn't decided on a name for the kitten yet, but said he wants to name it Tiger.
There are two other kittens from the litter, but there was only one cat born with two faces.
Charles said that the fact that the kitten has two faces does not bother him. What does bother him is that the kitten has not nursed since it was born.
"I think he's cute, but I don't think he's going to live because he hasn't been chewing," Roberts said.
Dr. Shane Bateman with The Ohio State University Veterinary Hospital said a two-faced kitten is extremely rare and there's no real explanation as to why it would have happened.
The owner told Bowersock that shortly before 5 p.m., the kitten began nursing.

Now she could face the terrifying prospect of having both her ravaged arms AMPUTATED as her flesh is eaten away.
Rachael admits she is a walking warning of the dangers of drugs — yet she still cannot give up.
Telling of her plight, she said: “It’s an absolute nightmare. I’m terrified of losing my arms. The doctors are serious, they’ve warned me.
“They told me, ‘You’re going to lose your arms if you continue to use drugs, we’re going to have to amputate them’, but I just can’t stop.
“I don’t have the strength to do it on my own. I need help.”
Tragic Rachael started injecting heroin when she was only 15 — and more than a decade of abuse has destroyed the veins in her arms.
She said: “Because I’ve been using for so long I literally have none left.
“I’d be rooting around for veins and you can easily mistake a capillary for a vein.
“They are so small that they can’t handle the heroin. What happens is the heroin burns through them and I literally have necrosis [dead flesh] over my arms. It really upsets me.”
Although Rachael has attempted to kick the habit several times, she has always slipped back into addiction.She said: “When I tried to get clean, I couldn’t do it.
“No one wants to be a drug addict or to do the things that you have to do in order to feed your habit.
“I’m not a scumbag. I’m a good person, my family instilled a lot of goodness in me. But when it comes to drugs, all my morals go out the window.
“The consequences of using heroin happened very quickly.
“When my family found out, they were devastated.”
Rachael, who lives in Dublin with her mother Linda, 42, went on: “I’m actually surprised I’m still sitting here.
“Without a doubt, I know I could die. If I didn’t have the family, I think I would be dead already.
“The state I’m in physically, your body can only take so much. Never in a million years did I think my arms would end up like this.
“Heroin has become all I know. I would give anything to get clean.”
Now she is desperately seeking help to give up heroin completely. But although she has tried to get into rehab there have been no places available.
Mum Linda told The Sun: “Her body is just giving in at this stage.
