Tumbuhan bertindak balas pada cahaya matahari
Dua minggu lepas dua pasu pokok gantung ini telah dibeli di pasar Seberang Jaya. Mulanya nak cari pokok biasa yang tak tergantung tapi pekedai asyik promote pokok gantung ini. Katanya susah nak cari pokok ni. Sekali sekala sahaja ada then aku pun termakanlah pujukannya.
Balik rumah aku pun drill dinding kat luar rumah sebab nak buat sangkut pokok ni. So far nampak sihat sahaja pokok ni, ingat nak try biakkan kalau boleh.
Pagi tadi waktu siap2 nak keluar rumah terperasan pokok ni nampak pelik sikit, sebab semua pucuk2nya terarah ke luar. Kesimpulannya tumbuhan bertindak balas terhadap cahaya matahari. Ini subjek sains sekolah rendah ni.

Kids know science
* One horsepower is the amount of energy it takes to drag a horse 500 feet in one second.* You can listen to thunder after lightning and tell how close you came to getting hit. If you don't hear it you got hit, so never mind.
* Talc is found on rocks and on babies.
* The law of gravity says no fair jumping up without coming back down.
* When they broke open molecules, they found they were only stuffed with atoms, But when they broke open atoms, they found them stuffed with explosions.
* When people run around and around in circles we say they are crazy. When planets do it we say they are orbiting.
* Rainbows are just to look at, not to really understand.
* While the earth seems to be knowingly keeping its distance from the sun, it is really only centrificating.
* Someday we may discover how to make magnets that can point in any direction.
* South America has cold summers and hot winters, but somehow they still manage.
* Most books now say our sun is a star. But it still knows how to change back into a sun in the daytime.
* Water freezes at 32 degrees and boils at 212 degrees. There are 180degrees between freezing and boiling because there are 180 degrees between north and south.

Purple fluorescent frog dicovered
A purple fluorescent frog of the genus Atelopus was discovered during a follow-up survey of the Nassau plateau in mid 2006 by Surinamese scientists Paul Ouboter and Jan Mol. The frog is one of 24 new species found in the South American highlands of Suriname, conservationists reported on June 4, 2007, warning that these creatures are threatened by illegal gold mining.

The top of the atmosphere

Atmospheric gases scatter blue wavelengths of visible light more than other wavelengths, giving the Earth’s visible edge a blue halo. At higher and higher altitudes, the atmosphere becomes so thin that it essentially ceases to exist. Gradually, the atmospheric halo fades into the blackness of space. This astronaut photograph captured on July 20, 2006, shows a nearly translucent moon emerging from behind the halo.

I would teach the world that scientists fall in love — with experiments. An experiment can be beautifully stunning. Experiments are not just about proof — some of them have an intrinsic elegance, that you just want to go back to and look at again and again. Take men with two X chromosomes. This puzzle of nature just called out for the experiment, conducted in 1990, to search the two X chromosomes in such individuals — to find a bit of the Y chromosome, that might have broken off and become integrated into one of the X chromosomes. It just had to be there. And sure enough, it was. What we now know to be the SRY gene — the sex-related Y gene — had got into the X chromosome. And this is the gene that turns on the process to grow testes, and become male.
