The upside of falling down


Parents have a natural impulse to want to protect their children and make life easy for them. It's a survival mechanism. And it works, to an extent. But it's not healthy for a child to be protected from absolutely everything. Risking failure and making mistakes are two of the chief ways humans learn – and failure, along with self-achieved success, brings big benefits to kids.
