Under the agreement, Jaring will provide Airod with Secure Virtual Private Network (SVPN) services and its MY015 broadband telephony system.
The system will link Airod's headquarters in Subang with branches in Kuantan, Sungai Besi, Kuching, Alor Star and Butterworth, said company officials.
A VPN – used by large organisations such as banks and insurance companies – allows multiple branches or locations to connect using a secure broadband Internet connection to access data networks on a round-the-clock basis.
Airod's chief executive officer Kamil Aziz said the system is expected boost its operational efficiency in logistical support and customer services, improve communications as well as save time when dealing with its major client, the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
“We also expect up to enjoy a savings of up to 30% by employing these services,” he said.
Kamil said preparation for the installation of the SVPN and MY015 services is underway and the exercise is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
Airod also hopes to extend the system's reach to its civilian and (other) military customers, as well as vendors and suppliers based here and abroad, he said. –ZAM KARIM
